  5. This  archive  contains  the  demonstration version  of the  MYZ80 
  6. package. You MUST read all of the following before using  any part 
  7. of this package.

  11. The files in this package are copyright Simeon Cran 1991,1992  but 
  12. are being distributed to demonstrate the  MYZ80 package.   You are 
  13. hereby provided with a LIMITED LICENCE  to use the MYZ80  package. 
  14. Details of the limitations are provided in this document.

  19. MYZ80, as supplied here, is fully functional.  The only functional 
  20. differences between the demonstration  version and  the registered 
  21. version  (as  of this  release) are  extra screens  of information 
  22. which  slow  down  the  booting  process   somewhat  and   require 
  23. keypresses  to  clear  them.  This  is  done to  encourage you  to 
  24. register the software.

  26. When you do register,  it is  likely that  improvements will  have 
  27. been made to MYZ80, and you  will receive  an improved  version of 
  28. the program.

  30. Registration does not get you a printed manual.   The registration 
  31. fee is so small that this would not be economical.   Besides this, 
  32. the program is very  simple to  operate, and  the MYZ80  utilities 
  33. have online help message.

  35. Registered users will be kept up to date about upgrades  to MYZ80. 
  36. Registered users may request information about MYZ80 which  is not 
  37. provided  with  the  package.   Requests  of  this  sort  made  by 
  38. unregistered users will be  ignored unless  it is  considered that 
  39. the information would be generally of use to  registered users  as 
  40. well. Registered users will also be given priority  when it  comes 
  41. to sorting out any problems they might be having in adapting MYZ80 
  42. to their needs.

  44. With  regard  to  the  suitability  of  the MYZ80  package to  any 
  45. purpose, no guarantees are  being made.   Every reasonable  effort 
  46. will be made to assist registered users in  getting the  most from 
  47. this package, but no guarantees are being made nor implied.

  52. If you are going to use  MYZ80 for  profit, you  MUST register  it 
  53. first. What constitutes the use of  MYZ80 for  profit? Any  use of 
  54. the program which brings  direct or  indirect economic  returns to 
  55. you.
  56. This includes the following uses (and may include others):
  57. Using MYZ80 in any way to develop software.
  58. Using MYZ80 to demonstrate other software or a computer system.
  59. Using  MYZ80  to run  software which  is being  used for  business 
  60. purposes.
  61. Using MYZ80 as a teaching tool.
  62. The  demonstration  version  of  the  MYZ80   package  exists   to 
  63. demonstrate what the registered version is capable of, not to help 
  64. you make a living.

  66. If  in  doubt, register.   If you  fail to  do so  and breach  the 
  67. limitations  of  this LIMITED  LICENCE you  may have  legal action 
  68. brought against you.

  71. Any use  of the  MYZ80 package  which may  directly or  indirectly 
  72. further any war effort or which directly or indirectly promotes or 
  73. assists the cause of  capital punishment  or any  specific capital 
  74. punishment, is  a breach  of the  LIMITED LICENCE.   This includes 
  75. (among other things) using MYZ80 to run an editor program to write 
  76. a pro-war  or pro-capital  punishment letter.   The MYZ80  package 
  77. must not be used to destroy humanity.

  80. You are  hereby given  the right  to make  multiple copies  of the 
  81. MYZ80  package  as  long  as  the  package  remains  complete. For 
  82. convenience, the form of the archive (.ZIP, .ARJ, .LZH etc) may be 
  83. changed  as  long  as  the contents  are not  changed and  are all 
  84. included.

  87. Phew!.... but you get the idea: I'm not about to  just throw  away 
  88. the thousands of hours of work that have gone into creating MYZ80.

  91. MYZ80 is the BEST Z80 and CP/M emulator  for IBM  AT (and  better) 
  92. compatible computers, or at least I think so.  If you don't agree, 
  93. you are free to remove its code from your disks. If however you do 
  94. agree (and I think you will), then please register and become part 
  95. of the growing community of happy MYZ80 users who are keeping CP/M 
  96. and Z80 code alive.

  118. For MYZ80 to work at all it needs:
  119. IBM AT compatible (or better)
  120. 300k free RAM
  121. DOS 3.3 or later
  122. Disk drive
  123.  
  124. MYZ80 can also make good use of the following system  resources if 
  125. available (None of these is required to get  good performance  out 
  126. of MYZ80):
  127. Hard disk drive
  128. More than 300k free RAM
  129. DOS 5.00
  130. XMS memory
  131. Multi-tasker (such as OS/2 2.x, Desqview or Windows 3.x)
  132. 32 bit CPU (80386,80486)
